Plant Breeding Academy welcomes Dr. Jay Patel as new instructor
Dr. Jay Patel has recently joined our teaching roster of the UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy as one of the core instructors, beside Dr. Kendra Armstrong, (42 Ag Genetics), Dr. Kent Bradford, Dr. Jovan Djordjevic, and Dr. Allen Van Deynze of UC Davis.
“Teaching plant breeding is my lifelong dream, therefore, I am incredibly excited to be an instructor at PBA. I will be happy to share my practical plant breeding experience. At the same time, I am also looking forward to learning plant breeding methodologies and techniques used in other crops from students and faculty", said Dr. Jay Patel.
“We are so pleased that Dr. Jay Patel has accepted to join us and teach our students,'' said Dr. Jovan Djordjevic, UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy Director. He continues: "Our Academy carefully selects instructors with a wealth of practical experiences in commercial plant breeding along with integrating new Breeding Technologies, and Jay has been at the forefront of enriching traditional breeding within Corteva for 30+ years (former Dupont/Pioneer Hi-Bred), including Genomic Selection.
