As a Regional Operations Manager, you will be tasked with building and leading a team at a new facility while overseeing two other locations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless and efficient preparation and processing of seeds, delivering the highest quality products. Your responsibilities will encompass a comprehensive oversight of the entire seed processing journey, from its initial stages to final delivery, ensuring that each seed meets their exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire teams in milling, seed enhancement, packaging, and inventory departments, offering guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support
  • Identify, onboard, train, schedule, and appraise team members to cultivate a motivated and highly efficient workforce
  • Vigilantly oversee seed processing, from receiving to precise drying, cleaning, sizing, sampling, enhancement, packaging, and timely shipment across multiple state-of-the-art facilities
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, implement process controls, and utilize data for optimal inventory management, meeting customer demands effectively
  • Collaborate seamlessly with material planners and customer service teams to synchronize work orders and sales requirements, enhancing workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Enforce company policies, ensure labor law compliance, and implement discipline when needed while upholding the highest standards of operation
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and manage equipment repairs to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Maintain accurate and swift computer data entry transactions, ensuring data integrity across all activities
  • Collaborate with the operations manager to manage budgets and identify opportunities for advantageous returns on investments, securing financial health
  • Champion safety compliance, minimize injuries and product loss, and uphold stringent quality assurance policies to maintain impeccable product quality

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge or the ability to obtain knowledge and understanding of seed science.
  • Must have ability to operate common laboratory equipment and/or seed conditioning equipment or the ability to learn how to operate this equipment
  • Employ excellent visual, mathematical and judgmental skills
  • Master of excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity, spatial perception, visual discrimination, mathematical and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to handle stress especially when encountering necessary projects, deadlines and/or high workload
  • Strong character traits required include emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and honesty
  • Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs and working with the Maintenance personnel to ensure completion
  • Performs and/or is responsible for overseeing the completion of the required daily, weekly, monthly, and annual procedures within the warehouse and the accurate filing of the required reporting involved
  • Act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration
  • Input and involvement with the planning and preparation of the departmental CAPEX
  • Maintains workplace area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements
  • Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager
