USDA-APHIS is seeking regulatory input

USDA-APHIS is reopening the comment period for the draft audit standard developed for its Biotechnology Quality Management System (BQMS) pilot project, a voluntary program that aims to enhance compliance with the regulatory requirements for field trials and interstate movements of certain genetically engineered (GE) organisms.

The USDA is also requesting comments for permit application requirements and the notification procedures for the importation, interstate movement, or release into the environment of a regulated article and necessitate certain information and recordkeeping requirements, including APHIS-issued permits, applicants' field testing records, and the submission of protocols to ensure compliance.
